Detailing an engine bay used to be a tedious, deeply frustrating job. After spending ages degreasing it, you had to meticulously dry every ribbed hose, plastic cover, and tight crevice before trying to awkwardly massage a dressing in by hand. If you used a cheap aerosol, it left a sticky, greasy mess that attracted dust the second you drove down the road.
Koch-Chemie Motorplast (Mp) completely rewrites the rules of engine bay valeting. It is a highly advanced, water-based conserver designed specifically to be applied to a soaking wet surface. You simply wash the engine bay, rinse it, and while everything is still completely dripping wet, you mist Motorplast over all the plastics, hoses, and metals. Then, you simply shut the bonnet and walk away.
As the water naturally evaporates, the product self-levels perfectly across the bay. It penetrates the rubber and plastics, leaving behind a flawless, natural factory shine with absolutely no greasy pooling. It also forms a protective, heat-resistant barrier (safe up to 250°C) that actively repels dirt and protects metal power units from corrosion. It is the closest thing to magic in a bottle when it comes to under-bonnet detailing.

How to Use Koch-Chemie Motorplast
- Degrease First: Clean the engine bay thoroughly using a high-quality APC or degreaser (like Koch-Chemie Green Star) and an detailing brush.
- Rinse: Gently rinse away the dirt and degreaser using a low-pressure hose or pressure washer.
- Do Not Dry: Leave the engine bay completely wet. Do not reach for a drying towel.
- Apply Motorplast: Mist Motorplast evenly across the wet plastics, hoses, and metal components. You do not need to drown the bay; a light, even mist is sufficient.
- Walk Away: Close the bonnet and allow the engine bay to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. The product will self-level as the water evaporates.

Pro Tip: If you are in a rush to hand the car back to a customer, or if you want to ensure the most flawless, even finish possible, use a car dryer or compressed air to force the water and Motorplast into all the tight crevices, then run the engine for 5–10 minutes. The heat from the block will bake the dressing onto the plastics and flash off the remaining moisture instantly.
Note: While perfectly safe for engine bays, avoid spraying directly into the alternator or exposed open-air intakes. Do not use on surfaces where slip poses a hazard (e.g., pedals or steering wheels).
