Choose this if
- Restoring faded, UV-damaged exterior plastic trim
- Dressing rubber door seals to prevent winter freezing
- You want a tyre dressing that survives heavy rain
- Protecting scuttle panels and unpainted wheel arches
Don't choose this if
- Dressing interior dashboard plastics (use Top Star)
- The plastic is completely chalk-white and dead (use Black Dye)
- You prefer a water-based, tunable gloss (use Hpc)
Unpainted exterior plastics take a brutal beating. Baked by UV radiation in the summer and blasted by road salt and freezing temperatures in the winter, the material eventually dries out, loses its rich pigment, and turns a faded, chalky grey. If you try to fix this with a cheap, water-based dressing, it will look fantastic for exactly one day until it rains, at which point the dressing washes away and streaks down your paintwork.
Koch-Chemie Plast Care is built for the real world. It is a highly durable, penetrating dressing specifically engineered for the punishing environment of exterior trim. Rather than just sitting on top of the surface, its formulation allows the active preserving agents to soak deep into the microscopic pores of the plastic and rubber. Once cured, it effectively locks the moisture in and seals the surface against the weather.
The result is a beautifully rich, dark, semi-gloss finish that genuinely survives heavy rain, multiple maintenance washes, and harsh sunlight. Beyond just making plastics look brand new, it is absolutely brilliant for conditioning rubber door seals, preventing them from cracking in the summer heat and stopping them from freezing to the metal door frames during deep winter frosts.
Why Plast Care is an essential exterior staple
- Deep Penetration: Feeds the plastic from within rather than just masking the surface, ensuring a uniform, patch-free finish.
- Extreme Weather Resistance: Highly hydrophobic formula repels water, meaning it will not wash off or streak down your paintwork in the rain.
- Prevents Winter Freezing: Conditions rubber door seals to keep them supple and stops them from freezing shut in sub-zero temperatures.
- Zero Greasy Residue: Cures completely dry to the touch, preventing the trim from becoming a sticky magnet for road dust.

How to Use Koch-Chemie Plast Care
- Prep the Surface: Dressings cannot bond to traffic film or old silicone. Scrub the plastics thoroughly with an APC (like Koch-Chemie Green Star) and a detailing brush.
- Dry Completely: The plastic must be bone dry before application. If there is water in the pores of the plastic, the dressing will not be able to penetrate.
- Apply to a Sponge: Dispense a small amount of Plast Care onto a clean foam applicator pad (like the Koch-Chemie Interior Sponge).
- Work it In: Massage the product evenly across the plastic or rubber, ensuring you push it deeply into any heavy textures or grain.
- Buff the Excess: Allow it to dwell and penetrate for a few minutes. Then, take a clean, dry microfibre cloth and gently wipe the surface to remove any excess product and leave a perfectly dry, even finish.

Pro Tip: The final buff is the secret to a professional finish. If you apply a dressing heavily and just walk away, the excess oils sitting on the surface will act like glue for dust and pollen, turning your bumpers brown within a week. Always wipe away the excess—the plastic has already absorbed what it needs.
Note: Keep product away from glass and painted surfaces. Do not use on interior dashboards, as the formula is too heavy and volatile for enclosed spaces.
