Carbon Collective Elixir

Carbon Collective Elixir is an intensive underbody cleaner that neutralises road salt. Road salt as we know rapidly accelerates corrosion, causing damage to the undercarriage of your vehicle. Using Elixir helps to minimise corrosion and therefore increasing the life span of your vehicle.

Elixir is a foaming, low-pH pre-wash, specifically formulated to remove granular road salt, grit, and inorganic road film. The foaming action allows for a longer dwell time, helping to break down salt and other contaminants over time, or, allowing you to agitate the surface if required, to further remove embedded contaminants.

Carbon Collective Elixir Salt Remover is specifically formulated to remove bonded crystallised salt particles from the surface, which otherwise would not be removed via the normal wash process. Road salt reacts with organic molecules such as fuels, oil, and other inorganic molecules from the road, forming a coating on the vehicle’s surface, which is why a focused salt remover is essential for this application. Whilst salt can be dissolved in water, bonded grains of salt are not easily removed with a pressure washer or hand washing alone.

How To Use Carbon Collective Elixir

Elixir is used during the pre-wash stage and you will want to use Elixir first before any citrus pre-wash or snow foam is applied. When applying ensure a good application of Elixir on the undercarriage. Whilst salt deposits can be all over the car, the undercarriage is where a large build-up is likely to be and the toughest place to clean.

Rubberised underseal on classic cars becomes brittle over time, cracking and exposing the non-protected metal finish, this is where salt and water cause a problem, creeping into the cracks and accelerating rust. Older cars are particularly susceptible to this as they are not E-coated from the factory, this process was only introduced widely in the 1990’s in large-scale manufacture.

Carbon Collective Elixir can be applied in multiple ways, it can be diluted in a spray bottle, applied via a snow foam lance, or via a hose adapter. On first use, use a stronger dilution to ensure the removal of any long-term salt build-up.

1. Dilute according to the ratios given below.
2. Apply to the lower half of the vehicle, wheel arches, and undercarriage.
3. Allow 10 minutes for the product to dwell.
4. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.

Suggested Dilution Levels

Deep Clean

Spray Bottle: 150ml / 850ml Water (pH 4.5)

Foam Lance: 200ml / 800ml Water (pH 6.5)

Maintenance Clean

Spray Bottle: 100ml / 900ml Water (pH 6.0)

Foam Lance: 100ml / 900ml Water (pH 6.7)

Hose Adapter: Neat (pH 6.5)
