Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light (CSL) is a user-friendly ceramic coating designed to provide long-lasting paint protection for your vehicle. It forms a durable, chemically bonding 9H ceramic layer that offers excellent resistance to wash swirls, chemical damage, and environmental contaminants. Unlike traditional waxes, this coating provides 3-5 years of protection while maintaining high gloss levels and making your car easier to clean.

Crystal Serum Light offers impressive specifications including 9H hardness for scratch resistance, chemical resistance from pH2 to pH12, and extreme temperature tolerance from -40°C to 250°C. The coating maintains gloss levels in the upper 90th percentile and provides 3-5 years of durable protection. It's formulated to be about 80% as effective as the professional-only Crystal Serum coating while remaining user-friendly for DIY application.

Crystal Serum Light is designed for automotive paint surfaces and works on all paint types. However, the surface must be properly prepared - completely clean, decontaminated, and ideally polished to remove any defects. The coating cannot be applied over existing waxes, sealants, or other coatings. For best results, apply in temperatures between 10-25°C with low humidity and avoid direct sunlight during application.

Start with a thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated paint surface, ideally after polishing. Work in small sections (60cm x 60cm) in a shaded area. Apply the coating using the included applicator with thin, even coverage, then remove excess with a clean microfibre cloth within the working time. The product comes included with detailed instructions, and for ultimate performance, you can overcoat with their EXO v5 hydrophobic coating once CSL has cured.

You can expect 3-5 years of durable protection with significantly enhanced gloss, easier cleaning, and excellent resistance to wash swirls and chemical damage. Bonded contaminants like tree sap, tar, and water spots become much easier to remove. The coating maintains its performance much longer than traditional wax or paint sealant, with gloss levels staying consistently high throughout its lifespan.

The most common mistakes include applying over contaminated or improperly prepared surfaces, working in direct sunlight or high temperatures, and not removing excess product within the working time. Unlike the professional Crystal Serum that requires sanding if applied incorrectly, CSL is more forgiving but still requires careful application. Always ensure your paint is perfectly clean, work in shade, and follow the recommended application and removal times for best results.
