What's this, then? Well, you remember that bottle of Simoniz Teflon Car Polish & Body Treatment that Leicester Loon' sent me? Refresh your memory:

You might also remember a slew of Autobright products that I have used in the last year? Well, I have a third of a bottle of Ultra Seal, which is a product that I like and is very much like Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 ... and much as I like it, it's one of those I'm unlikely to use again.
You can see what's coming, can't you?
Well, the pitfall of Ultra Seal is that it is a pure sealant and little more than that. Yes, it's good as a pure sealant and you'd wonder why I wanted to tinker with that. The Simoniz Teflon Car Polish & Body Treatment was simply a dead loss - it applied and would NOT come off. The trick to blending is to improve both products by formulating a new product that does the job of both, but somehow better than both.
Blended, I hope to improve the workability of the Simoniz product while adding what appears to be a very strong cleanser and the Teflon element, which may be simply a marketing exercise, but I've been quite taken with the idea of Teflon recently ... that's another story, though.
So, what to call it ...
You can't buy the Simoniz product any more so this newly formulated waxpolish is a throwback ... "retro" should be in there, "Teflon" has to be ... and short of putting ZX in there, I couldn't be more '80s so we'll just call it
PJGH Retro-Teflon Coat.
Now ... what to try it on ...
White car ... bonnet ... wash with ONR (Yuk!

) ... dry ... apply PJGH Retro-Teflon Coat with a Blue Pearl microfibre applicator, allow to dry and buff off with a EuroW deep pile microfibre towel.
Application was excellent. I must say, I was fully prepared with a secondary product in case it welded itself to the paintwork again but it spread very well indeed, cured very quickly and passed the swipe test in now time. I think the very fast curing from the Simoniz product is a good character in this blend and the Autobright sealant helped it spread and hopefully has merged well with whatever sealant was suspending the Teflon.
No pictures ... sorry ... it's dark, but it did look bright and glossy; certainly everything you'd expect from Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 but with the added benefit of a strong cleansing action. It reminded me a LOT of Autosmart Platinum.
I might be able to snag a picture tomorrow and hopefully will see some beading from any overnight rain. If not, it'll be the weekend when I wash the cars down.
Interesting ... it's now a blended of two bottles that were redundant into a bottle that I'll probably use again. It sits in my cupboard next to PJGH Cleaner Fluid Pro, another bonkers blend you might remember:
