Who's up for a Friday night funny review?

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Don't do it!!!!!
It's okay ... I won't, but I am very tempted since Turtle Wax was the benchmark of Sunday car washers across Britain for decades. Didn't I learn anything from my
Tesco Deep Shine product test? You may well ask. On the back of the tin, it reads, "easy-glide silicone resins ..." ... and that's about as much as I want to hear about that

So, how did I happen across this tin? I didn't buy it, no ... I wasn't given it, no
It was sent to me by accident instead of my tin of Armor All Hi-Shine Soft Paste Wax. I challenged the seller about it and he replied, "it's the same stuff ... just in a different package"

Okay, that may be your opinion, but it's not actually true. Anyway, he's being a little cagey about actually sending me the Armor All Hi-Shine Soft Paste Wax so I've given him the option of refunding my Paypal transaction and offered to send the product back to him (well, drop it in, since I drive past his house every day as it has transpired). So, to cut a long story short and without further ado, let me present to you,
ARMOUR ALL HI-SHINE SOFT PASTE WAX

Straight off the back of my most surprising and truly impressed use of their Car Wax Gel, I had a chat with them and it became apparent that they no longer produced the gel, hence their appearance at ludicrously cheap prices in pound shops; 99p to be precise. I perused their current catalogue and hunted down a supply. Since the wrong tin arrived on Wednesday and I thought I'd be in for a struggle, I bought a tin from another supplier:
http://www.classicsagogo.co.uk/ as it happens - great if you're into car restoration, but their
detailing products are a bit standard and/or old-fashioned. So, while the great Turtle Wax refund of 2008 continues, I had some fun with the intended product from another supplier.
The wax is soft ... much like those Meguiars "soft" waxes, which are little more than the liquid wax hardened a bit and chucked into a tin. I wonder which liquid wax this is from the Armor All range? My guess is their
Protectant Wax.
So ... come on man ... what's it like? Well, I spritz the boot of my white car down with Meg's Speed Detailer and wiped off, buffed and stood back. Shiny ... good! Time for the wax. I dabbed a terry applicator into the tin and wiped it all over the boot and worked it into a smooth thin application. It spread well and dried off quite quickly ... but not really quick, like carp products

It doesn't smell too bad - not especially nice and you won't find me tip-toeing down the stairs in the middle of the night to pop the lid off and have a little sniff like I do with my Chemical Guys products
Swipe test ... it revealed shiny paint underneath, so that's good. I then wiped off with a Eurow deep shag towel, flipped it over and buffed like crazy. MY LORD!!!

That
is shiny! The product claims to have visual gloss enhancers and such like, so I presume that is the synthetic polymer part of the product and it "contains white carnauba", but who knows how much carnauba they actually put in the product. Looking at the pictures below, you will notice the reflection of many of the uprights have a shattered diagonal effect running through them. I have seen this before with Meguiars #26 and Pinnacle Souveran wax does the same but to a much more subtle level, giving a perfect shimmering finish. Meg's #26 is not far off that effect, but this is on steroids! Literally, I fear

I'll try to get the rest of the car done over the weekend. What do you think, guys?
