It’s been a while since I popped on the forum, but I have spent the past year (and some) preoccupied with dealing with matters associated with illness & loss in the family followed by lotza bad work karma at the moment - hardly any time to pursue my obsessions. Things are settling down a bit and can get back into my pastimes.

OK my lil’ Sis purchased a new Fiat 500X last week (surprisingly quite a nice car, far better in the flesh) and for my Xmas pressie to her will be giving her new baby a full polish and paint protection. Looked into some of my underutilised detailing products for the paint protection and I came up with the options of using Carlack 68 or Duragloss 105

Your thoughts ??

Both products are very similar in performance, longevity and end results....cleanse and seal the paintwork.

However, 105's longevity can be increased up to 12 months...PROVIDED Duragloss' Bonding agent is used beneath it.

Before you apply any sacrificial wax layer...apply several layers of the 105 and see how it looks. Adding a wax may not add anything to the 'look' if it's a light coloured paint.

Regarding Duragloss 105

"Synthetic Polymer/Wax Formula. Super-tough coating forms a protective barrier which protect against acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings and other environmental pollutants.

One Step Wax - Recommended for all vehicles. Contains additional cleaning properties to remove mild oxidation and light surface scratches.

Step Saver Tip - Blend 4 parts #105 to 1 part 601, Polish Bonding Agent for added durability and gloss. Accelerates the curing process for instant bonding. Apply within 2 hours after mixing for maximum results."
