It may not be proper
netiquette to wake up an old thread, but I am in favour of using forum boards as a knowledge base and so keeping the subjects together is always going to be a good idea.
I wrote this some time ago and in the meantime, I have tried a whole stack of products that I believe have improved the finish on my white car to the point that I can now say what I believe to be the perfect, glossiest, deep, wet-look finish on white.
A few things to say first ...
1. White is one of those colours that seems to oxidise more frequently and so benefits from regular polishing with a dedicated paint cleanser or cleaner wax - I work by hand and I'm quite a fan on Autoglym Super Resin Polish for the cleaning, light polish and glossy sealant layer that is left, but Car-Lack68 NSC does an equally good job of cleansing and sealant but lacks the excellent filling capabilities of AG SRP.
2. Beyond that, I found a glaze helped bring out the brightness of the paint - Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze, followed with Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 was a good combination and one I enjoyed a lot on my white car before I was introduced to Duragloss.
3. Some "glossifiying" products do so by fracturing the light as it his the paint and while it may appear very glossy, the finish is not the purity we're after here. A couple of examples are from the cheaper end of the market: Armor All Hi-Shine Soft Paste Wax delivers a great glossy bright finish, but exhibits exactly this problem - the reflections are not wet and pooling but shimmering and fractured. Asda Car Polish (yes, you read that right

) is another example.
So ... we need to either polish the paint to perfection with a machine polisher or work by hand using a dedicated paint cleanser or a filling polish of the AIO kind. I said above that AG SRP and Car-Lack68 NSC are two that I use and get good results from. Serious Performance Paint Cleanser is another good one and a great precursor to their Super Sealant. Duragloss 652 is another good one I have tried and probably a good choice if following up with Duragloss products ... that said, Duragloss 601 (the pre-bonding agent) seems to work with any polymer sealant and works well with Serious Perfomance Super Sealant.
Remember we're talking white cars here, but light metallic silver may well benefit from the same advice. One of the good things about the Duragloss sealant products is that they will happily sit on whatever you've done to the paint beforehand, so whether you've used AG SRP, a dedicated paint cleanser like the one from Serious Performance or Duragloss' own 652 Pre-Cleaner, 671 Swirl Remover or 101 Polish & Cleaner you can follow on with their 601 Pre-Bond Agent and then 105 Total Performance Polish or 111 Clear Coat Polish.
I seem to be favouring Duragloss here and personally, I have tried the 652, 601 and 105 products. As far as dedicated paint cleansers go, there's little in it and I cannot recommend the 652 product above, say Serious Performance's Paint Cleanser ... but it's good, nevertheless. The 601 and 105 products are astonishing!!! The finish is wet, deep, glossy and pooling - lovely on white.
That's where I'm at for now ...
... but, of course, I want more
I'm looking at Zaino - I'm already happy with polishing/cleansing/cleaning and then the Duragloss 601/105 combo, but what after that? Well, I'd like to really seal that in good and proper, for which I've been reading about Zaino CS or perhaps Optimum Opti-Seal -
what experiences do people have of these products? I take it either will be happy on top of a sealant like Duragloss 105 or Serious Performance Super Sealant?
Next ... optical gloss enhancers

Again, Zaino or Optimum - Zaino Z6 sounds like a fun product and right up my street for the white car, but Optimum make an Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer. Again,
what experiences do people have of these products? Price-wise, the Zaino product would appear to be the bargain, but does the Optimum product offer a lot more?
Once again, to recap ... I would AG SRP (or paint cleanse, as appropriate) and then Duragloss 601 and 105. After that I would Z-CS or Optimum Opti-Seal and maintain with either Zaino Z6 or Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer.
That, I believe is the ultimate finish for the wettest look on white. Comments?
