Hello all,

I have managed to find a way out of my leased (and much maligned) Audi A4. Never going near a black car again.

I was wondering if anyone has any proven combinations of polish and wax for Ford frozen white? Is Ford paint as tough as Audi's?

I have S20 Black and S40, I know the S40 is for darker finishes but I'm not sure about the S20 Black. Waxes are Collinte 476s and Angelwax Dark Angel, the latter will be donated to one of my son's friends who has a black Ibiza.

As always, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

You shouldn't have any problems whatsoever using the S20 Black or S40 on any coloured paintwork...they aren't 'colour charged', nor have any fillers in them. I would however suggest that you would need a whole range of pads, to suit the different degrees of imperfections, when using the S20 Black, as this polish is diminishing abrasive, but degree of cut can be tweaked by the pad itself. You could also use Scholl S17+ or S30+ polishes if it is a new car.

Ford has a reputation for using hard paint...but this isn't always the case across all their cars. So use the old method....least abrasive polish and soft pad first and step up from there to see what works.

Your Collinite 476 wax will produce a nice gloss on the white paint. But consider using a sealant, such as Zaino Z2 beneath it...the depth of gloss will be drastically enhanced.

Thanks Mark M & Willington, I will keep using the Scholl polishes. I think I'll order some FK1000P and Zaino Z2. Along with the Gliptone Twins, Focus has leather furniture.

Thanks once again.

I keep going back to DDJ Supernatural hybrid.... With either GTechnic C2V3 or Dodo Juice Future Armour as a top up when the beading drops

Beautiful car! The DDJ Supernatural looks very good on your RS, thank you for the advice.

Wish I could afford an RS, mine will be a one year old Focus ST-3.
