Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum!

When using certain brands of polish, for example AG SRP, would you use a different brand of wax to top it?

I bought some meguiars 2.0 tech paste wax, but have lots of super resin polish to use. I wondered if the characteristics of either product would be affected by using a different brand of wax or sealent? More so will the tech wax perform at it's best topping SRPor would it make more sense to use meguiars polish?

I feel like it's a stupid question, but at the same time it makes sense that manufacturers produce these products to work together ?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Mark,

There is no such thing as a stupid question. I get where you are coming from and get why you're asking. Whilst, say, Autoglym state that their EGP or HD Wax is designed to work over SRP I see no reason why you should't mix and match. Maybe the longevity of a wax or sealant may be reduced slightly, I can't really see any issues. I use Fusso Dark over Bilt Hamber cleanser polish, or I may use BH DSW. Anyway it's fun finding out what can be achieved. Just remember basic rules though, e.g. wax over sealant, not the other way round.

Try the meguiars wax over the SRP, it'll be fine.
