There are loads of legacy products out there Mick, some good, some bad. Mer is one of those names synonymous with difficult to use products, same with some Turtle Wax stuff that simply sticks to the paint and you need a blowtorch to get it off.

That said, there are some good products out there from legacy names. The funny thing is, those legacy names seem to be rebranding their usual formulas into nicer bottles and selling at prices approaching good products from the names you see in the CYC shop.

In mer's defence the wheel sealant is quite a pleasure to use

Sorry Dawood but I will always compliment what works and will use what works.
Ive used there wheel sealant in the past and for the money its a good product off the shelf.
There are so many good products shadowed by there name sake and I dare say better than some overpriced detailing gooides out there.
Each product holds its place for evereyone imo.

One thing we haven't asked ... exactly what was wrong with it? Surely a QD is a QD is a QD?

Sorry, I came across all "on me soap box then"

I agree with paul on this, a QD is a QD.................to some extent.

Some are better than others but no doubt the mer stuff has cost between £7- £9 and if thats the case you can get poorboys,CG and megs which are all good stuff for the same money.

Whats the crack with it being in the bin then?
Smeary, not workable?
