A few months back I got hold of this American product, a PreCleaner, from a supplier who imported it for testing but he never got around to doing so.

Image

As the label said..

Designed to gently remove Oxidized paint, surface scratches, water spots, tar, tree sap, road film etc etc by using synthetic emulsifiers.....looking good so far :D

Instructions for use, by hand or by buffer were followed to the letter...I tested it by hand on a small area of paintwork which had a tar spot on the side-skirting.

So, after shaking the bottle for a minute, putting a little on a cotton cloth, I gently rubbed the blemish for three minutes.

The instructions say that it is not how hard you rub, but that you rub which makes the product work.

Result....No change at all! The tar spot was still there but the paintwork around it was noticably smoother and looked cleaner.

I then tested it on tree sap...again with the same results...no change.

Conclusion: This product claims to be an all-coming 'singing and dancing product'. As such it does non of these well, being a balanced compromise....A bit like Carpro's Trix which many have found neither fully removes Iron or tar in comparison to their dedicated Tardis and IronX

You will be better off using dedicated products which will get the job done.

I won't be getting this product again and will be consigning it to the rubbish bin! Worth testing it though.

It could be said that it was a waste of time. However, unless you try something, you won't know whether or not it's any good.

That's what this section of the Forum is all about...testing and reporting...both the good and the bad points.

Fortunately, it hardly cost me anything...otherwise about £6 ($9 in the States), so I'll keep it just in case I can find some use for it.
