Re: My Giulietta at The Sage

Thanks for the link, Phil. I have a Zomei 720 filter (72mm for my outdoor Tamron lens) on a Canon 300D. I did the white balance setting on grass in sunlight. Post processing is the problem - I have Adobe Lightroom 4 which you cannot swap channels! Maybe GIMP can do it? I'll persevere ... and read u...

Re: My Giulietta at The Sage

Smashing! Superb shot. You can't half pick the compositions  I had a quick go at infrared (using a filter) after seeing some of yours. I formed the opinion that a converted camera is the only way really. Thanks everyone, i was actually taking photos of the Sage so kept running back to check t...

The Samyang is only £220 or £250 for the chipped version :)

Haymarket Metro Station 360 x 180 Equirectangular Pano

I went out with a few friends to do some cityscapes in Newcastle but as it was raining we decided to head underground and try some shots in the Metro Stations. I had my home made pano head with me so as soon as i seen this area inbetween the platforms at Haymarket i knew it would make a good pano du...

Re: Choices ... Choices ...

I tried both brands before going for my Canon (1000D) One of the reasons for this is possibly not as much an issue for you doing food shots, but its to do with weight. I compared the D70 and D90 and found them both to be very heavy compared to the Canon, and as I might be carrying it all day then t...

Re: Panoramic photo taken at Wembley Stadium

I cant believe there are no stitching problems as the people are all moving constantly... Heres one i did at the Gateshead/Newcastle Quayside. http://www.360cities.net/image/gateshead-quays...

Steetley Magnesite Site - Urban Decay

After seeing photos of bulldozers at this iconic location i just knew i had to get there before it was no more. I went down with a few friends off Flickr and set about getting some shots.. Re: Choices ... Choices ...

Interesting read Paul, i straight away thought D90 as i myself have a D5000 (previous model to the D5100) and as you say it has no motor in body. BAre in mind you can get an old AF 50mm f1.4 for £80 or something whereas the AF-S version is £300.... Also on the other points my friend has a D70 and 80...
