Re: New to detailing - cleaning procedure advice

+1 on arranging to see an Autosmart rep. May I also suggest booking yourself on an Autosmart training course; there is plenty to be learnt if you're doing it as a business and I think it is so important to first become really good at simply cleaning cars to a high standard before getting into the re...

Re: The BIG Winter LSP Test

I stripped what was left of the Carlack LLS on Sunday, most of it was already gone apart from the roof and boot lid which still had some traces. I'm impressed especially with over 7000 miles covered since December and quite a few strong relatively snowfoam washes just to get the bulk of the salt off.

Re: Fallout removal.

I was once working near Birmingham airport but even closer to Birmingham International railway station and used to get lots of fallout, much more than usual. Re. Pump sprayer, you should be fine, I have used Autosmart Fallout Remover with one before and it was fine, just rinse the sprayer out with w...

Re: The BIG Winter LSP Test

2 weeks and just over 2000 miles covered since the last wash; the protection is still holding up well, I'd say about 90% of the dirt was removed after a snow foam and pressure wash. I don't know what it is they are using on the roads this year but it does seem to make the car look awful rather quick...

Re: The BIG Winter LSP Test

Gave mine a wash today, around 1500 miles covered since the last wash a month ago. Still looking good and cleaned up well, it was absolutely filthy.

Re: Which pressure washer and snow lance?

No I don't think it is. It'll last longer and they're much quieter in operation. At they sort of price it's a bargain. The weak points tend to be hoses, lances, guns and nozzles, however you can adapt the machine to take universal industrial type replacements if you ever need to in the future. I hav...

Re: Which pressure washer and snow lance?

I'll have a look at some models in your price range tomorrow, I'm on my phone at the moment and this forum isn't very phone friendly. You will be able to get something very decent with your budget. Thanks. Let me know when you can. I'm pretty sure the C130 has an induction motor: https://www.amazon...

Re: Which pressure washer and snow lance?

Have a look at Nilfisk. I have had mine for about 5 years now without issue. Go for a model with an induction motor. You will need to buy a separate snow foam lance like the one in the CYC store - they are all pretty much the same and you can adjust the angle of the jet. I'll have a look at some mod...

ValetPro Yellow Bumper Gel

Free to a good home, please PM me to arrange collection. I used to use quite a lot of this when I used to clean many different cars but I no longer have a use for it on the two cars I now look after. Re: Glass cleaner

To add to this, if the the windows are particularly dirty, Autoglym Glass Polish does a great job. I usually use Meguiars Concentrate Glass Cleaner but if i come across stubborn stains which it can't shift, I use the Glass Polish.

Re: Carlack Glass Sealant

I used to find it excellent but I mysteriously started getting streaks as per Mr Whippy's post above. I tried all sorts such as prepping with IPA, claying the glass, new wiper blades, glass polish, ammonia, degreaser etc...I gave up on it in the end as it was actually quite dangerous :!: I have no i...

One of my favourite QDs is Chemical Guys Speedwipe, I don't see it mentioned very often.
