OK Sonus experts..

Reading a Autopia (Sonus) article.. on Dual Action Polishers..

http://guidetodetailing.com/articles.php?articleId=47

They talk about the above to remove light swirls before waxing.

Now I have just used SFX2 then 3 then Jetseal then Pete's 53' - not a 5 minute operation, I can tell you.. Wink

So what's Sonus Ultima Paint Prep Plus Pre-Wax Polish ?

Is it the same as http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polish/sonus-paintwork-cleaner/prod_46.html ??

I have as mentioned SFX 1, 2 and 3..

On that subject they say DO NOT wash your pads in a washing machine use their Sonus cleaner..

Oops I slung mine in the washing machine with MF's and a NON-BIO wash powder. All came out OK - if a bit fluffy Very Happy.

Have I bodged ?

OK more reading..

Seems the best way to keep your paintwork top is to use a Pre-Wax Cleanser and NOT over polish it. i.e. removing too much clearcoat..

http://www.autopia.org/forum/guide-detailing/80222-over-polishing-paint.html

So in the running - if I am correct is Sonus Paintwork Cleaner and then again also I presume Dodo Lime Prime..

Anyone got any favs.. I presume you apply with SFX3 pad ?

The sonus paintwork cleaner looks like a good idea once your swirl free and don't want to remove anymore clearcoat. It sounds a bit like megs stage 1 cleaner, which is good.

Dam it LM are you trying to spend more of my money Laughing

That's a good link Cool cheers

Hey I think you have to do lots of research if you are rubbing abrasives at high speed across your paintwork Shocked Wink

Considering your total paintwork depth including primer, paint and clear is just over a 10th of a millimeter thick, over polishing with abrasives isn't a geat idea.

Chemical cleaners are a good idea, such as carlack NSC before LSP IMO.

Hi Tony,

Carlack NSC ? do you mean this ?

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/carlack-68-nano-systematic-care-300ml-/prod_380.html

They also seem to do this :

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/carlack-sealant-kit/prod_358.html

On the 1st link they mention removing minor swirl marks.
Everywhere else they stress totally non-abrasive.. ? Question

Would I apply with the G220 and a pad ?

Go for Lime Prime Lite as there are no abrasives in it Wink
