Hello all,

I live on an estate-in-progress where the builders always seems to be digging up freshly tarred roads and then covering them over again. So I end up with a lot of tar on the alloys and body panels. I have been using Tardis and ObilTARate, both of which do the job. Spray an area, allow it to dwell, agitate if necessary and wipe clean. Repeat.

But after a few weeks, the spray bottles all start to fail. No doubt the solvents in the products attack the plastics and rubber in the spray heads. So I end up with more product running down the bottle, and dissolving the driveway, than I do on the car. I have tried removing the spray heads and rinsing them with a soap solution and flushing with water, which does make them last a little longer.

Any suggestions for a spray bottle that can handle these sort of solvents long term?

I used Raceglaze's Tar remover...it comes in an aluminium bottle as it's so powerful. However, the spray nozzle disolves!

So I turned to the CYC Chemical resitant sprayer and attached it onto my aluminum bottle.....no issues in over a year :)

Thanks Willington, I don't know why I didn't look at Raceglaze's products. I'll give both of them a try.

And I have also tried Kenotek Ultra, on your recommendation. Very nice and works even in the cold. My 1 year old white car went a lovely shade of pink.

When you order the Tar remover, tell them on the phone about your concerns for chemical resistance of the spray nozzle...they may be able to switch it for a specialist one for you.

I'm glad that you liked the Kenotech Ultra. Perhaps you could add to my Product Test post about your experience using it?
