Hello one and all,

It's been a fair while since I posted on this forum.
Bring you all up to date.... I sold my beloved 205 GTi in January 2016. It was a sad day, but she had to go.

I then went without a car for 10 months till we bought a Citreon C2, 1.1L an ideal runaround car. Cheap and cheerful.
This is destined to be our son's first car when he passes his test. Currently being taught to drive by my wife, who is a driving instructor.
How lucky is he.... free lessons and a car when he passes.

Well I decided it was time for me to get a new car, so sticking with the french theme and the GTi I started hunting for a Peugeot 208 GTi.
I'd heard positive things about them, I read a lot of reviews and watched lots of videos.

I found one at a price that was good for me, and coupled with a visit to family just outside of Chesterfield - off we went to go see the car.
I was not let down when I got there... it looked better in the daylight than in the photos that were on the advert.

So, a new car has been bought and a return to the cleaning/detailing has begun.

I have one photo, which I took when I got it home last week. Don't worry many more will follow, when the work begins.

I can see the similarities between them, but yes they are worlds apart.

My 205 was 1.6 8v approx 105bhp out the box, the 208 is 1.6 Turbo 16v approx 200bhp.

Technology has advanced, health and safety is paramount - they could never rebuild a 205 to modern day standards.

I have my memories from the 205, and the 208 is now making many more new ones.

:D
